Here are some of the festive activities we got up to during the month of December!

St. Vincent de Paul Food Collection took place over the last few weeks. A huge variety of food was gifted to them by the kind families at our school.

Christmas Jumpers for Crumlin Childrens’ Hospital: Children, parents and school staff were invited to wear their Christmas jumpers to school in exchange for a small donation towards this great cause. We collected €600 in total.

Santa confirmed that he would be landing in Burnfort at on Thursday 17th December. He had little treats for all the boys and girls who call to say hello. The most festive cars received prizes for their effort.

Letters to people in our Community: Thank you to those who volunteered to deliver letters around the Community. We had over 100 letters to distribute. Our children from 3rd to 6th classes completed their letters to members of our parish. We have received such positive feedback from the recipients-many of whom wrote back to the children. It is wonderful to see the impact a small act of kindness can do to lift someone’s spirits.

Shoebox Appeal was done online this year. Thank you to all who participated.
Class nativities and performances were rehearsed and recorded.

Blessing of the Baby Jesus. Fr. Greene visited the school to bless the baby Jesus from the cribs. Some children brought in a Baby Jesus from their own cribs at home.

Cinema and Tuck Shop opened in school on Monday 21st of December.  €2 covered their treats in shop and cinema entry!! Our principal Niall O’Sullivan is currently fundraising for the Irish Community Rapid Response through gofundme.com. This amazing charity rescued Niall on the day of his accident and brought him to Cork University Hospital in minutes. Any profit made went towards this fund on behalf of the children of Burnfort N.S. We also sent a Christmas card to our beloved Principal Niall to let him know that we are thinking of him and wish him a speedy recovery.
