How heavy is a bag of sugar?

This week in maths we were investigating the weight of various objects. 

We learned that a kilogramme is actually quite heavy! We predicted and investigated whether items were greater or less than a kg. We also learned that a kilogramme is the same as-
-two 500g bags of pasta
-a packet of spaghetti and a bag bag of raisins
- 5 and a half apples
- a big bag of porridge

We also realised that we shouldn't 'judge a book by it's cover'. Something may look small but it could weigh a lot!
